Another client reveal: Before and after

We've been so fortunate to work with some amazing ladies in transforming rooms for their families.  Another one of our client has great sense of style herself.  Upon walking into her house the first time, we felt she really didn't need OUR help.  But, as Deb and I struggle at times in our own homes, she was too.  The first room we did for her was her family room (central command of the house - the hub!) What an important space! She had purchased this house about a year ago and had been focusing on a new exterior backyard with fire pit - HEAVEN!  And was now ready to figure out the family room.

BUT I can't seem to locate the before image of her space....SO with that TEASE for a future post.... Here's the next room we transformed.....her teen daughter's media/hangout space.

DRUM ROLL.... the BEFORE:

This is a space above the garage.  It's a view as you walk up the stairs.  LOVE the ceilings with the sky lights which allow for great light.

And here's that view AFTER:

AFTER:

We wanted a space for the girls to be creative and have spot to eat pizza with friends.  We sourced this table at an estate sale which was sanded and painted the same orange as the wall color.  One of her daughter's has quite an artistic flare and painted that picture of the flowers on the wall.

It is such a FUN space!  We loved working with this client because she didn't even think twice when we mentioned doing orange for accent walls and it WORKS!

Our Client's teen boy media room: before and after

We've both been following blogs for years.  And, in the past year, we've started a decorating business to help people affordably change rooms in their homes.  So, HERE IT IS..... Our blog to share our decorating business adventure!  And, I've decided to share a BEFORE and AFTER first because it's always my fav blog post to read!!

 It's amazing what can happen when you change a so-so or even nonfunctioning room into something you love.  It can SERIOUSLY change the way you use your house!!  Our passion is to provide just that to our clients and do it without spending a fortune!  It's what we LOVE to do in our own homes.

One of our clients recently moved into a bigger home.  Instead of using their 4th room as a guest room which rarely get used.... or  spending 10s of thousands to finish off their 3rd floor, they decided to convert it into a teen boy hang out/media/game room.  As often happens, kids get kicked out of their room when guests come out of town to visit.  This mom wanted him to have a comfy place to land when that happens.  Plus, she wanted an area that read consistent to the rest of the house and what boys and parent want.  Seemed like IKEA was the place to turn.

Here's the room BEFORE:

 A mixture of left over furniture squeezed into a 4th bedroom.  {BTW it was hard to get that recliner out of there - apparently even dad loves it}

And, so with a blank canvas, we headed to IKEA.  We thought a large sectional would fit the bill for lounge and even sleep.  Remember, it's a teen boy and he was content with sleeping on the floor.  Sectional would be a huge upgrade.

And, here's the space AFTER:

The coffee table was sourced at a local treasure hunting spot - Clash and Trash - perfect name!  It was sanded down and stained dark.  The sectional, chair, and large picture are from IKEA.  The floor lamps, which have  wood grain effect lamp shade are from land of nod.  The valence are reused from a previous room we did in our client's previous house.  She loved them and asked for us to use them in this space.  We felt it add that touch of feminine that every space needs.

Recently we touched base with our client and she says the family LOVES the space.  It gives them a space that functions for their needs and every one can enjoy!
